As the Longnight approaches, all of Dendria anticipates the coming thaw. The ritual feeding of the Cardinals ensures longer days ahead, for it is these red birds’ song that will wake the resting suns from their longest slumber. But the Ode have caught wind of this solstice tradition. The air blares with the sound of Squawkers – Ode’n machines designed to lure and capture Lord and Lady Cardinal. Will you free them and perform the old rite?

New Winter Event: Thawtide

The Ode won't stand idly by while you feed your seeds to the red birds. You'll need to fend off the Thawtide Hunters and destroy their clamorous Squawkers so the Cardinals are safe to land.

Each Thawtide Hunter you defeat will raise the level of all other Thawtide Hunters across Midrath, raising your risk and rewards!

With the help of Tuvulkane, you'll craft your own Seeders to place upon the Squawkers you destroy. Doing so will summon a Cardinal, maybe Lord, maybe Lady, who will reward your Envoy with either a Thawtide Fragment or Dracs.

With all your Fragments collected, you will be able to craft a loyal Lord or Lady Cardinal Guide of your own!

Thawtide will run until January 30th, 2026, at 2 p.m. ET.

New Envoy Forge: Thawtide's Plenty

New Armour: Thawtide Meltcap

A hiemal helm shaped like a snow-covered pine tree.

Though the Ode'n Weatherers have warmed Midrath's atmosphere 'yond any chance of snow, a hint of the old ways still lingers in this traditional helm. Once worn by the Longnight Elders during the great Cardinals' vigil. Now, a sick costume.

New Armour: Thawtide Thermals

Densely spun Dendrit weave to fend off the Thawtide chills.

'Twas once tradition to feed the Cardinals on each of the seven days leading to Thawtide. With leather gloves cupped 'round last autumn's seeds, families left their hearths and marched into the freeze. Upon gloved palms, landed tiny talons, feasting 'fore their hungry work at Thawtide's dawn. This year, hungrier than ever before.

New Armour: Thawtide Shingles

Jingling gently with every step, the shingles of a Longnight Elder... Now worn in mockery.

Upon the leather tassets, a constellation of metal scales. One stitched upon the hip for each annual Longnight served in vigil, guarding a Cardinals' nest. This Elder had served over 60 'fore the spellsong wiped their memory of each and every Thawtide's dawn.

New Armour: Thawtide Grimguise

Cold as metal, hard as glare. A Sinecure mask starforged to a Dendrit Thawtide Helm.

A cruel mockery of sacred tradition. Worn by the Thawtide Hunter, an elite marksman ordered by Synod himself to stifle the Dendrit Thawtide tradition. What desire does the Ode'n lord have for these tiny red birds? Or is it fear, perhaps, that moves him so...

New Weapon: Maestro

A ceremonial bow of the Dendrit Thawtide tradition.

Maestro is a hunter's bow, simple in make but for its uniquely carved arrows. When plucked and loosed just so, the wind whistles through the fletching to mimic the call of the Cardinal. Each year, just before Thawtide's final dawn, ‘tis the hunters rite to summon the flock to darkest sky. One long whistle to cue the chorus. For it is the Cardinals’ morning song that wakes Mora from her longest slumber.

New Weapon: Rostrum

A ritual dagger of the Dendrit Thawtide tradition.

So large a dagger, yet so peaceful a purpose. Rostrum is a hunters blade named after the beaks of the birds it feeds. ‘Tis the work the young to find flowers in frost, and the work of the elders to slice out the seeds one by one. Only the finest of these befit the crimson beaks of Cardinals, for it is their work to wake the sun from the longest night of the year. And hungry work it is.
