The Veilands and Votives
The Veilands Wither!
Preludes 17 introduces Soulframe’s largest shift in how Midrath is explored. Now beset by Ode’n corruption proper, Envoys must progress through the Isle and redeem it.
Your Envoy will progress through Midrath by the Enclave’s side:
You’ll set out to destroy the Ode’n Syphon draining each region of its life. To dismantle the Ode’n occupation, you’ll need to complete Votives and uncover how to destroy the machine
Envoys can yet freely explore Midrath—however, purifying each region will restore Alca’s bounty: Totems, fish, natural resources, and more.
Votives have also been significantly reworked to accommodate this new system!
Votives are no longer accessed from World Trees.
Votives are no longer linear. Each Votive contains a primary objective: the main goal of your Votive, which you can accomplish as desired. Secondary Oaths reside nearby and are optional.
Votives now boast a Scoring system! Depending on how thoroughly you complete a Votive, you’ll earn a rating that describes the rewards you earned.
Enclaves, too, boast many new changes
Enclaves are now freely available after completing The Torment Stag! No Sacred Shimmer is required.
Entrance puzzles will still need to be completed.
Bita’s Eve
Bita’s Eve soon returns! Feel the nip in the air?
The Crone Cucurbita’s power is back with Preludes 17! Launching live alongside the Update, you’ll encounter a few new items and a terrifying new foe.
Destroying Wintersquash now has a chance to summon the Veltruska. Fragments for new equipment will be earned by defeating this Mighty Foe.

Ode’n Infamy
Their wrath is incurred! Once a Veilands is redeemed, the Ode will learn of your infamy.
The Ode respond to your efforts! Expect reinforcements deployed against you when attacking Ode infrastructure.
Participating in world activities, like Sieges or Votives, will increase your Infamy.
The more infamous you become, the stronger your foes, meaning you can earn more XP.
New Pact: Ode Shrike
A new Pact is upon us!
The Ode Shrike is an Ode’n Pact using traps and chains to lock down the battlefield.

Preludes 17 lets you grow your Wolfpup into an adult Omen Wolf!
By clearing the Veilands, you’ll earn a Biscuit capable of maturing your Wolfpup up. You’ll need to have completed their training, however.
Feeding the Bairnsday Biscuit plays a cutscene of your Wolfpup becoming an Omen Wolf!
New Fish
New finners swish around Midrath’s waters! Fishing continues to expand, introducing 4 new fish species to find across the Isle’s three Habitats.
Each fish emphasizes a fishing mechanic, whether it asks for a perfect bite, a perfect cast, or otherwise!
Mines of Borro
The Mines of Borro, ancient and unravelling, come with Preludes 17!
A preview, similar to the Rovgot Ruins!
