Soulframe Preludes 16 at Warframe's Devstream 197

Hints of Preludes 16: Of Hook & Hound!

Posted On: Sep 4th, 2026

Soulframe held a small preview of Preludes 16 at Warframe’s Devstream 197! Creative Director Geoff Crookes and Associate Art Director Rosa Lee provided a few updated looks at our upcoming puppy bonding system, Fishing, Tempers, and some combat updates!

Cub Bonding & Progression

On our path to bringing mounts to Soulframe, Envoys must first begin to bond with their cub!

By participating in various activities around the Isle, your cub will develop a unique temperament. Creative Director Geoff Crookes illustrated two examples:

  • If you’re often treasure hunting, your wolf will begin to develop an aptitude for treasure seeking.

  • If your cub is near you in combat, they may develop into a fiercer guard dog!

These are only two such examples! Our Patch Notes will contain more information about how your cub can grow.

Fishing

In making Alca more interactive, Fishing comes to Midrath’s waters! Fishing will tie into our puppy bonding system.

  • After a catch, you’ll have the chance to either return the fish to their waters or bring them to the Nightfold to create snacks for your cub!

Dynamic Weather

Dynamic weather is another step toward making Alca feel more immersive to live in! While rain might pelt you, and Mora’s rays may dry you off, these weather events will have an impact on the world.

  • Lightning storms empower Voltaic energy!

  • Flowery growth sprouts more than usual following a rainstorm.

Applying Tempers

Tuvalkane will soon be able to customize the Tempers, allowing you to tailor your Weapon to your playstyle!

Combat Updates

With Preludes 16, we’ve tweaked a few settings to make combat both more personal and responsive!

  • Attack magnetism has been reduced, which means that attacks don’t lunge as aggressively towards your foes. You’ll have to get within your Weapon’s ideal range to strike true!

  • Improved our parry timing and inputs to make them feel tighter once pressed and to make deflecting incoming blows more satisfying.
